Most of us make New Year’s Resolutions. With the end of January approaching at lightning speed, how many of you are still on track and gung-ho with those Resolutions? Hat’s off to all of you who are staying true to your goals!! That is something to be really proud of!! However, if you are waning and your will power is diminishing, don’t lose hope!
Keep on having great nutrition. Food keeps you happy and healthy on the inside and out. I know it’s tempting to have that cake but you’ve really got to be strong! Never forget to keep your protein uptake on the up. It’s so important to your overall health. Sometimes it’s a bit hard to get all the protein for food. The only “cheating” I will allow is a bit of protein powder. If you’re looking for some decent protein power, check out this guide to the best protein powder.
None of us are super human. We all struggle with the same things…will power being one of them at the top of the list. Those who have had extreme success are the ones who are able to learn and practice will power. Notice I said the word PRACTICE. In order for any of us to become better or even great at something, we must repeatedly practice. Another definition of practice is: to do something as an established custom or habit. Practice might not make us perfect, like the old saying goes, but if we stay with it, we will definitely improve and earn more confidence in the process. I don’t totally believe that if we practice working out everyday it will become a habit for life from then on. I think that for the simpler things like eating a piece of fruit everyday, brushing our teeth, and drinking a glass of water the first thing every morning, that those things are more realistically likely to become habits because we can almost automatically do them at some point without thinking about it too much because there is not much sacrifice or mental and physical effort involved.
So, when it comes to exercising and eating healthy everyday, this then becomes more of a daily choice we must make…because let’s face it…there are many other things that distract us from the gym and the grocery store. Most of us have a comfy couch…and not to mention the fast food joints on every corner and the convenience of ordering delivery straight to that big comfy couch! The plethora of things trying to sabotage our quest for living a healthy lifestyle is so overwhelming at times, that we conclude we aren’t capable of that lifestyle. We find ourselves giving up completely and then feel guilty, defeated, worried and miserable for years.
If this is you, its time for a Revival! You have a chance TODAY to revive the perception you have of yourself, to revive your reasons for getting healthy and to revive your excitement of what it will be like when you reach your goals! Don’t wait until next January rolls around… Begin again today. Its a new day and a new chance for you to to be one day closer to your goal.
Here are a few quotes to help inspire your Revival:
“Today is a new day. Hiding from your history only shackles you to it. We can’t undo a single thing we have ever done, but we can make decisions that propel us to the life we want and towards the healing we need.” -Steve Maraboli
“Although time seems to fly, it never travels faster than one day at a time. Each day is a new opportunity to live your life to the fullest. In each waking day, you will find scores of blessings and opportunities for positive change. Do not let your TODAY be stolen by the unchangable past or the indefinite future! Today is a new day!!” -Steve Maraboli
“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength.”
